A Biblical Prayer List

We should plan our prayer life and prepare for it. When we don*t have a list or we don*t know how to pray or what to pray the help of the Holy Spirit is promised.

Romans 8:26: Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Christians give me prayer requests because they know about needs that I do not. Their requests come from the Holy Spirit. And the Bible gives a specific list of things we ought to pray for.

Ephesians 6:18-19: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; 19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

We are to pray always, in the Spirit and for all Christians. If you know of Christians with unmet needs, you and other Christians are obviously not praying for them enough. They may not be praying for themselves enough either. It is better to pray for them and ourselves before we get into trouble. After may be too late. A lack of prayer causes most of a Christian*s problems. We should pray for boldness for preachers of the gospel. If you don*t know any preachers to pray for find some.

Colossians 4:3: Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:

2 Thessalonians 3:1: Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:

The Bible is powerful but we need to pray that it will go freely where God wants it to go. It should be obvious to every Christian American that we are not praying enough for God*s Word to saturate America.

1 Timothy 2:1-2: I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

We should pray for all men, believers and unbelievers. We should pray for those in authority. That would include people in spiritual leadership, government, law enforcement, educators, media, military etc. We should pray for a peaceful life for ourselves.

Matthew 26:41: Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

We need to pray for deliverance from temptation.

Mark 13:33: Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

We should pray that we will be in the right places at the right times doing and saying the right things.

Romans 12:12: Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

Our prayers should be quick and our first resort in every circumstance.

Philippians 1:3-4: I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, 4 Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,

We should thank the Lord for the believers He puts in our lives and pray for them.

Pray for my ministries. A Christian lady that plays piano in the services I conduct in a nursing home has had to miss some services bccause of illness. In a few weeks that nursing home will have a change of management. Pray that the work of the Lord will go on.

Colossians 4:12: Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

Prayer requires no special education or training or talent but it requires some ambition and commitment. I find prayer and spending time with my loving God to be more fulfilling than watching TV. How about you?
